OUR MISSION
The International Council of Religions (ICR) is established as a premier autonomous, non-governmental, and non-profit international body dedicated to advancing global interfaith harmony, fostering deep intercultural understanding, and building enduring peaceful coexistence among all religious, spiritual, and indigenous traditions worldwide. Functioning as a neutral, inclusive, and independent global platform, the Council convenes religious leaders, scholars, diplomats, civil society organizations, and grassroots peacebuilders to engage in constructive dialogue, joint humanitarian action, and policy advocacy designed to achieve sustainable reconciliation and world peace.
ICR operates in strict alignment with universal ethical principles and foundational international charters, notably the Charter of the United Nations, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948), and the UN Declaration on the Elimination of All Forms of Intolerance and of Discrimination Based on Religion or Belief (1981). The Council unequivocally affirms the sacred dignity, equality, and fundamental rights of all members of the human family, safeguarding universal freedom of thought, conscience, religion, and belief.
In pursuit of its core mission and global vision, the International Council of Religions endeavours to:
